Dr. Shuying (Sean) Li is a Canadian Citizen, settled down in Edmonton of Alberta province, Canada. Sean is currently Assistant Professor in SPFEO and the Curriculum and Instruction Department of Hong Kong Institute of Education, Hong Kong. Sean has a B.A of English Language and Literature, a MPhil of Language Translation and PhD in curriculum studies from University of Alberta. Before he came to Canada, he had been a teacher, lecturer and associate professor of English education for 11 years teaching at university level. He also worked as Associate Dean of Basic Sciences Department and then Dean of Foreign Languages Education School in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. Sean has a wide work experience and research publications in the areas of teaching and teacher education, lesson study, phenomenological pedagogy, language and culture, translation theory and practice. He presided, participated and assisted a number of research projects in China, in Canada and in Hong Kong SAR. Sean regularly gives lectures and workshops on phenomenological pedagogy and classroom-based lesson studies in China. Sean has Alberta Professional Teacher Certificate from the Province of Alberta, Canada and Translator Associate Designation of ATIA of CTTIC. He has been appointed Guest Professor and Concurrent Researcher in a number of tertiary institutes in China.
